*sigh*
Have you ever played another MMOG before? Ever tried to get something of some significance?
Anyone that leaves Eve over the agents distributing Tech 2 will either abandon MMOGs entirely or come right back. While missions are a fairly new feature in MMOGs (starting with AO), camping mobs who have a random chance of dropping an item is age old. Large group efforts (think 20+ people) to kill a mob that carries it is another favored tactic. Horizons will have you mining, lumberjacking or harvesting flax till your arms bleed instead of sweat to get a random formula from an NPC task giver.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann
Be careful out there. That other guy waiting in the queue for the gate MIGHT be a baby-munching frock-burner, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW!- Lallante |

Quote: I would hope this is not the only method to release new tech into the game. Id like to see events or some really rare npc pirate that roams around and is uber hard to kill drop a bp or like an auction type deal. This would allow for a lot more variety.
3 Words:
Miner II Fiasco
Events are a lynching waiting to happen. There is already some minor backlash from the Amarr championships, with people grousing about how the other races are left out. If the reward was a blueprint for those ships, these forums would have burned down already.

Quote: Some of you guys have missed the other post - its a 70% majority agaiunst agent missions for tech 2.
its a about 70 - 80% vote against agents only being available in empire space - not at all research stations
CCP have there fingers in their ears on this one
It's more like a .07% minority majority. These forums are not representative of the playerbase.
Have any of you ever played another MMOG before? I'd suspect many have not.

Quote: Well, I for one disagree completely with inserting Tech 2 thru missions.
It's a very unbalanced way of introducing tech imho. It forces people towards missions. I myself have not done a single mission yet, and as such lack agents. This would mean I do not get a chance at tech 2 ? If, so CCP should have stated more clearly that agent missions are a requirement if you want to play a role in technical advancement.
Do you have isk? Good. You can buy both the TL 2 items and the TL 2 bps from someone. I can guarantee that.
Cause I sold my Miner II bp

Quote: OMG.
Plus a good 400-450 in Miner II sales = Scorpion Original blueprint...
Which I'm considering selling for 850m (ME 7) or trading for a Typhoon original + Isk (depending on research). Not bad for about a week

Quote: what about people like me? with low sec rating how are we supposed to get this tech 2 stuff if we cant even get an agent? and even if we get an agent it sends us to 1.0 space??
You buy the finished goods from manufacturers with the blueprints. Or you can always hope for a catch from a raid...

OMG you ugly troll!!
I asked a simple question, it was hardly a whining rant
That's Tease for you.
Seriously tho Hanns, where there's a will there's a way. Large sums of isk will do. Prosecuting a war against a corp that has what you want, demanding their tl2 bp as a condition of surrender will do as well. People in Venal/Fountain/Stain have to get the blueprints up there somehow.
Doing agent missions is hardly the only method to aquire them. Just depends on your preferred 'Aquisition Methods'
